Booking Manager, Sierra Sitters LLC
I was raised in a small town in Arizona and moved to Southern California during middle school and high school. After two years at Glendale Community College, I was accepted to University of California Santa Cruz. Here I obtained my degree in Anthropology/Archeology with an emphasis on teaching. I have held many teaching positions over the years in different capacities, which has fueled my love of children and sharing knowledge.
My husband and I moved to Tahoe City in October of 2014. We love the small town feel and beautiful setting, as well as the opportunities that Tahoe has to offer for our two children.
I have worked with children for over 13 years, ages ranging from newborn to 15 years of age. I was a professional nanny for a nanny agency in Santa Cruz for many years before the agency moved to the Bay Area. During this time I had some really amazing experiences. I was able to travel to New York, England, and Ireland with my families. I have extensive experience with infants and have raised many babies from birth. I enjoy working with all ages of children and love to see the spark of wonderment in their eyes when I introduce them to new concepts and experiences.
My passion lies in the sciences, especially archaeology, physics, and astrophysics. I also enjoy nature, philosophy, music, animals, art, and dance. I have a strong thirst for knowledge and love to read, go to museums, science centers, observatories, aquariums, zoos, wildlife preserves, the theater and the ballet. I have been professionally trained in Ballet, Jazz, and performance dance from the age of three and have considered teaching these to children in the future.
As a hobby, I love to write and would like to write educational children's books. One of the projects I am currently working on is writing a series of children’s books teaching key scienctific concepts at a very young age.
In my spare time I enjoy taking my children on fun outings, yoga, making fresh juice, health cooking, taking my dog to the park and beach, hiking, camping, site seeing, snow activities, dancing, spending time at the lake and crocheting interesting things. I am currently crocheting all the characters from Star Wars for my son and daughter.
As the Booking Manager for Sierra Sitters, I look forward to providing safe and fun childcare for your family, while you get to experiance all that Tahoe has to offer!
