from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I studied Child Development as part of my Brown
University education and have up-to-date CPR and First Aid certifications. With

in front of a television set. I have 18 years of experience, even babysitting

with newborns to young teens; my specialty is toddlers to age six. My hobbies include yoga, skiing, Mt. biking, and reading.
Name: Julie Cooley-Rieders
Years of Childcare Experience:20+
About Me
My name is
Julie Cooley-Rieders and the Tahoe Truckee area has been my home for all my
adult life. Taking care of children has been my passion. Allowing children to grow, explore and learn
is a rewarding experience that keeps me excited as I continue caring for
children of all ages.
For many
years I owned a Family Daycare business in my Truckee, Ca home. This created an opportunity for me to spend
time with my own children. Learning through exploration, art, reading, nature,
and outdoor observations offers children a rich experience. Nurturing each
child’s interests helps them become strong solid people who respect themselves.
Working as a
Nanny for Sara at Sierra Sitters is a wonderful experience, providing
opportunities to meet many families and children of all ages. I am honored to take care of the children I
meet, and have a positive impact on their lives. The variety of families that request Nanny
Services continues to make each day I work an interesting and fun experience.

My passion for being around children began when I worked as
a counselor at the world renowned Santa Barbara Zoo. As a counselor I was
responsible for creating and implementing daily agendas for up to 20 children.
I worked as a mentor, leader and personal guide for over 150 children
throughout the summer. I also implemented and taught education and arts and
crafts. Bonding and mentoring with the children led me to nanny positions at
the end of summer with a few families of young boys and girls. I carpooled them
to and from the zoo for many weeks. Also daily planned play dates and "day
adventures" where we traveled to the beach, amusement parks, community
parks and pools, etc.
My excellent work and dedication to the Zoo led me to my next position. The
Advisor of Teen Volunteers. Where I direct and managed more than 50 teen
volunteers daily, trained more than 250 teen volunteers in safety and
leadership, coordinated overnight events for 50 teen volunteers, as well as
work as a mentor, director and counselor for the approximate 250 teenagers. I
absolutely loved managing, working and even more mentoring the teen volunteers
for my last two summers.
My passion for children led me into an internship with Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Butte County. Where I assisted the BBBS event coordinator in marketing, PR
and event planning. Communicated with sponsors, donors and volunteers and
participated in interviewing, meetings and company events. My love and
compassion for children is what drove me behind my hard work as the Event
Coordinator Assistant Intern.
I moved to Tahoe City in November 2010 and got a job at the Boys & Girls
Club of North Lake Tahoe where I was a Kinder Care Assistant. I cared for up to
50 kindergartners everyday. I taught, played and challenged there minds and
bodies. I fell in love with Tahoe and the Kinders' and am hoping to use my
experience with children in the Tahoe area.
After a few months at the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe I got a
promotion to Teen Manager. I manage the Teen Center and about 40 teenagers a
day. I plan programs, daily activities, field trips and fundraisers. I teach,
mentor and lead teens daily with hopes to change there lives.

Name: Andrea Rojas
Years experience:15
Growing up, I
knew I wanted to work with children. In high school, I was accepted to be part
of a teaching academy program. Throughout my four years I was able to team
teach at a variety of elementary schools to kids from kinder-5th grade. My
first job out of high school I worked as an assistant at a childcare facility. I
began my college education in 2002 at San Jose State majoring in elementary
education. In 2003, I made the move, along with my family to the Reno area
where I lived for six years. There I attended UNR and TMCC majoring in Child Development.
I have earned my Certificate in Child Development. While living in Reno I
worked as a nanny, a kindergarten teacher assistant, as well an assistant and
lead teacher at several childcare centers. In 2008-2011, I worked at KinderCare
as the lead teacher for the two year olds. I am currently 31 years old and
living in Truckee, CA. I work as a nanny for Sierra Sitters and at a shelter in
Reno for children who are in the process of being fostered or adopted. I have
experience working with all ages, infant to teen.
Working with kids for so many years, I
have come to understand that children come into the world with a blank slate.
The experiences, environment, adults, as well as surroundings are what shape
them into who they become. I feel our responsibility as parents and teachers is
to provide children with the best possible education, knowledge, and choices so
they are able to grow to their maximum potential. I believe that children
should be given the ability to become independent individuals by setting limits
with positive discipline, praise, and encouragement. I enjoy being surrounded
by children because of their imagination, innocence, and creativity.
I am a creative person who enjoys making
crafty items for family and friends. I love listening to music of all different
genres, reading non-fiction books, dancing, and meeting people of all different
cultures. Learning is a lifelong passion for me enjoying the many different
cultures around the world.
